Top Dating Tips #8: The Fallacy of Helplessness

A Male perspective on top dating tips #8: The Fallacy of Helplessness

Another name for this fallacy is the victim-syndrome. This is very unattractive because it makes the person needy and desperate.

Here are some extreme examples:

“I can’t be with her because I’m fat.”

“There’s no way I can be with her. I just can’t because I’m not that type of person she would be attracted to. So there is nothing I can do about it and just accept it.”

If you realize that you may say some of these things, then NOW is the time to change.

What people say to you may have an impact on your behavior, but more importantly, what you say to yourself is the dominating factor of your life.

You are with yourself 24/7. And what you say to yourself whether it is conscious or unconscious has a powerful impact on how you act. It is even more powerful subconsciously because your mind accepts things more readily in the subconscious form.

Reframing empowers yourself and your mind.

Instead of limiting yourself with all the fallacies, it’s time to say more powerful things.

“ I’m a ladies man.”
“Girls love to spend time with me.”
“I am playful and fun with women.”

So from now on, every time you hear yourself saying a fallacy, stop it by noticing:

  1. Either how ridiculous it is
  2. Or it’s stupid and you won’t waste your time on it anymore
  3. Than replace it with something more powerful

Know that you become what you think. So in the second you change your thought, you change who you are.

“As we think, so we become.”
(Buddha)

Whatever you say will eventually come true because it is a self-fulfilling prophecy.
