How to Get Girls

Reading Body Language Signs

Reading body language signs is a skill any guy can develop through a bit of study and a lot of practice! Are you able to recognise the signs?

Body Language Signs
How about a story to illustrate how body language signs operate in practice?

Teri was a nice looking girl my buddies and I used to see out at the local bar. For months we talked about who was going to go up and talk to her, but no one had the guts. I got sick of hearing them swoon over her, so I made them a bet.

The deal was, each person had to go and talk to Teri. At least one guy would try a night. I would evaluate who got the furthest, and the losers each had to buy the winner’s drinks for a night.

Paul started. He was the best looking of all of us. Nice looking guy – gorgeous is how girls often referred to him.

I watched him approach Teri. Immediately she dropped her head, slightly tilted to the side, and looked up at him sideways. Paul was off to a good start.

Teri laughed a bit as Paul talked to her, and gradually I watched her clasp and start to wring her hands in front of her pelvic region. Teri started looking around very casually. Paul chatted on, oblivious. Teri excused herself shortly thereafter.

The guys were excited to find out if Paul had gotten her number. I knew he hadn’t. But he had gotten the promise of, “I’ll look you up.” He was elated.

Paul started off well, but quickly crashed and burned. The identifying factor in terms of her body language signs was the clasped and wrung hands in front of her pelvic region, as if she was protecting her sexual area. Looking elsewhere, not at Paul, was the final indication that it was over.

Slick tried the next week. Slick was the kind of guy you never wanted to play poker with because he’d con you out of a winning hand every time. If I tell you he looks like the Ken doll from Barbie and Ken, you get the picture.

Slick approached Teri when she was talking to a girlfriend. Teri smiled when Slick said something, and then crossed her arms in front of her chest (bad body language sign!). Her girlfriend laughed as they talked, ran her fingers through her hair, and tossed her hair back. Teri turned her body to the side, and looked mainly at her friend. Teri’s friend reached out occasionally and touched Slick’s arm, laughing (good body language sign but not from the intended target!) I watched as the girlfriend’s face got flushed as Slick talked to Teri. The girlfriend, who was wearing long sleeves, casually reached over and moved her sleeves halfway up her forearm.

When Slick returned he was completely dejected. Teri hadn’t given him the time of day. And he didn’t have a clue that the girlfriend had reacted so positively to him!

Teri closed herself off from the start. She protected her chest with her arms, and turned her body away from him, indicating “do not enter.” Her friend, on the other hand, showed all the classic signs of interest – fingers through her hair, head toss, physical contact, flushed face, looking him in the eye, body squared directly at Slick, and exposing her wrists, a sign of sexual interest. Slick completely missed it. But Teri was his target, not the girlfriend.

Chunky was the last to try. We called him Chunky, not because he was fat, but because anytime he got drunk he blew chunks. He was definitely not the best looking of the bunch, certainly not as compared to “Ken doll” and Paul who was better looking than him.

Chunky approached Teri when she was sitting at a table. Her girlfriend had gotten up to go get another drink. As they talked, I noticed Teri did most of the talking. Chunky was sitting at the table with his legs outstretched, arm casually draped over the back of the chair. Teri moved her chair to face him, crossed her feet at the ankles, and occasionally ran her fingers up one of her thighs. As I continued to watch, she crossed her legs at the knee and turned slightly to the side, exposing her upper thigh. She ran her fingers through her hair and tossed her hair back occasionally. When her friend returned, Teri engaged her in the conversation, and when Teri wasn’t talking, she would steal sideways glimpses of Chunky (very positive body language signs!).

Chunky came back victorious. I knew Teri would give him her number. She exposed her upper thigh, a highly arousing part of the female body. Running her fingers up her thigh all but said, “Look what I have here.” The sideways glimpses are a coy way of showing interest. Chunky had done it.

For the next two weeks, Paul and Slick bought Chunky’s drinks. We all bought Teri’s.
